The Cherokee County real estate market showed a slight increase in the average sales price for the month of August 2023 to $540,934 compared to July at $527,002. In addition, there was a slight increase in the average price per square foot from $202 in July to $209 in August.
Housing inventory remains at near historic lows. New listings for Cherokee County were down to 460 for the month of August 2023 compared to 594 new listings in August 2022.
Rising interest rates & rising rents continue to pressure home buyers into carefully weighing their options. While there are some incentives being offered by new home builders, those who already own a home with a lower interest rate mortgage are hesitant to make a move.
