Powder Springs 30127 is a northwest suburb of Atlanta, located approximately 20 miles outside the city. The city gets its name from the seven springs located within the city that contain minerals that turn the surrounding sand black, like gunpowder, hence the name Powder Springs.
The city limits cover approximately 7 square miles, the zip code of 30127 further extends into unincorporated Cobb County and unincorporated Paulding County to the west. According to the 2010 census, the population was nearly 14,000 residents.
Over the last decade, Powder Springs has revitalized its downtown district, attracting new businesses, restaurants and entertainment activities. In addition to it’s various parks, Powder Springs also offers community sports leagues, a water park, and will be home to a new $10 million sports complex.
